DFP to DVI-D Single Link Adapter
This DVI-D male to DFP-D female adapter readjust the gender of DVI-D and provides transition from DVI to DFP while allowing the actual size for these adapters to be very useful in dealing with difficult interconnection problems. You can connect your legacy DFP Compaq Monitor to a new DVI video card or use to connect newer monitors to your old Xpert LCD or Rage LT video cards. These fully molded adaptors provide transition from DVI to DFP interfaces.
What is DFP?
Digital Flat Panel (DFP) is a video connector for flat panel displays. It features 20 pins and uses the PanelLink protocol.
Unlike DVI, DFP never achieved widespread implementation. The connector was used by displays such as the Compaq Presario FP400, FP500 and 5204. It was offered on graphics cards such as the Xpert LCD, and Rage LT Pro by ATI Technologies Inc. DFP was superseded by DVI because of a low maximum resolution of 1280x1024 (SXGA), whereas DVI supports much higher resolutions.
